Tom began his directing career as writer/director of a number of short films for the BBC and Channel 4 - including the critically acclaimed "Dogfight" for Channel 4 - as well independently producing the cinema short "The Bride", a ‘best comedy' winner at The Houston Film Festival. He went on to direct "Five Seconds To Spare", a feature film for Scala starring Ray Winstone and Andy Serkis.

He was selected as the UK director on the European Film Academy's Berlin master-class with Oscar winning director Istvan Szabo, was awarded a British Screen bursary for his feature script "Hoppers" - set in the Kent Hop fields at the outbreak of World War II - and won the Lloyds Bank Film Challenge for his short film "Beachy Head".

After directing a music video for the Stereophonics, Tom went on to direct major advertising campaigns for clients including Carlsberg, Heinz, HSBC, Transco, British Gas, The AA, Coors Lager and BBC Sport.

Tom took a sabbatical from directing commercials to write his first novel, ‘The Spider Truces', published in Spring 2010 by Myriad Estates.

He has made a return to directing work through Feel Films, directing spots for clients including Volkswagen and the charities "Changing Faces" and "NSPCC". At the same time he has worked as visual content consultant to Tim Craig, creative director at Radioville, and with Dave Waters at Watermill on creative projects for the big screen, the small screen and the tiny screens.
